Volunteer with us
Melon Mission welcomes both local and international individuals and groups who are willing to share their time, skills and compassion. Volunteers are invited to serve while exploring the beauty of Kenya, our vibrant city of Nakuru and the surrounding communities, making service a meaningful part of their journey.
By volunteering in classrooms, supporting mentorship activities, assisting with maintenance or contributing to school programs, volunteers become part of a caring community that directly enriches the learning environment. Every hour given strengthens student confidence, supports teachers and reinforces a culture of shared responsibility and care.
There is no minimum or maximum duration for volunteering at Melon Mission. We value flexibility and welcome both short term and long term engagement. Clear communication in advance allows us to plan effectively and schedule volunteer support in ways that best serve our students and programs.
Volunteer Information and Requirements
All volunteer applications must be submitted using the application link provided on this website. Once submitted, applicants will be contacted with further guidance and next steps.
Volunteers must be 18 years and above. Minors may participate only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or when written consent from a parent or guardian has been provided in advance.
There is no volunteer participation fee at Melon Mission School. However, volunteers are responsible for covering their own personal expenses, including accommodation, meals, flight tickets for international volunteers, and local transportation within Kenya.
Melon Mission is committed to equality and inclusion. We do not discriminate based on gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, or any other status. All volunteers are welcomed and valued based on their willingness to serve, respect our values, and support our learners and community.
For the safety and wellbeing of our children, all volunteers are required to provide a valid police clearance certificate. International volunteers should obtain this document from their home country before arrival, while local volunteers must present a current police clearance certificate issued within Kenya.
We look forward to welcoming volunteers who share our commitment to service, dignity, and positive community impact.
